SBC Tournament Day 1 Preview

The 2017 Sun Belt Conference postseason softball tournament gets underway on Wednesday in Troy, Alabama.

Four games are on the opening day schedule, with two elimination games kicking things off, followed by two games that will start the double elimination part of the bracket.

The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns, the top-seed in the event, along with second-seeded Texas St., both draw opening day byes.

In the opening game, 5th-seeded UTA will take on 8th-seeded Coastal Carolina at 10 am, with the winner advancing to meet 4th-seeded South Alabama at 3 o'clock.

In the second game, Georgia Southern, the #6-seed will play Georgia St., the #7-seed, ULM, with the winner advancing to battle #3-seed Georgia St. at 5:30 pm.
