Freshman J. J. Thomas, whose full facial growth spawned a special promotion Saturday night at the Cajundome, had a special week.  For his efforts, Thomas has been named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week.

Thomas, a freshman from Opelousas, led the Cajuns in scoring in both games this past week.  Against Arkansas State, Thomas scored 20 points, including a perfect 4-4 from the free throw line down the stretch to lead the Cajuns to a 64-61 win over the Red Wolves, including a pair with six seconds remaining to seal the victory.

Then on Saturday, Thomas scored 13 of the Cajuns' first 19 points on his way to a game high 25 in 39 minutes of play to help lead the Cajuns to their ninth straight victory, a 67-64 win over Western Kentucky.  For the week, Thomas shot 14-34 from the field and 10-13 from the firee throw line.

The Cajuns will be back in action Thursday night when they take on Denver for Senior Night at the Cajundome.
