With the first of their two seventh round draft picks, the New Orleans Saints selected Pitt defensive end Greg Romeus. Romeus was a top NFL prospect after his junior year. He was the Big East defensive player of the year. Back surgery, followed by a torn ACL caused his stock to take a huge drop. However, if healthy, he could amount to buried treasure for the fleur-de-lis.

At 6'5, and 265 pounds,  Romeus is currently rehabbing from his torn ACL. If he makes a full recovery, he can show off his strength, quickness, and agility that made him a star DE at Pitt.

In addition to his physical tools, Romeus is the kind of  "character guy" the Saints like to fill their locker room with. Pitt coaches raved about his maturity and leadership during his 5 years at Pitt. He was a "lead by example" player that earned him the respect of the Panther locker room, as well the opposition in the Big East Conference.
