The New Orleans Saints went on the road and got another impressive victory this past week at the New York Giants. With the win, New Orleans moved to 3-1 on the season and finishing the month on a three-game winning streak.

In addition, with said win over the Giants on the road, the Saints got a little bump up in the weekly power rankings this week, take a look:

Last week the Saints ranked fifth and this week they've jumped up to four in the latest ESPN NFL Power Rankings.

The Top Five is as so:

  1. Los Angeles Rams (4-0) Steady at 1
  2. Kansas City Chiefs (4-0) Steady at 2
  3.  Jacksonville Jaguars (3-1) Up one from 4
  4.  New Orleans Saints (3-1) Up one from 5
  5.  New England Patriots (2-2) Up one from 6

There wasn't a lot of movement within the top five this week as the only team to drop out with an overtime loss to the Tennesse Titans was the Philadelphia Eagles who got bumped down to six.

A couple teams who made big leaps were the Baltimore Ravens who last week ranked 15th and are now up to 7th, the Cincinnati Bengals who jumped up to 8th from 14th, and the Chicago Bears leaping up to 10th from 18th last week.

For the Saints, it was a different kind of win last week against the Gmen, the team did it with defense, special teams, and a very strong running game. The passing offense was very underwhelming as Drew Brees failed to throw a touchdown pass and the leading receiver was tight end Josh Hill, that should tell you all you need to know. Regardless, the team got the victory and that's all that matters. They'll try to continue the upward trend this week against the Washington Redskins on Monday Night Football. Brees will chasing history in this one as he's just 201 passing yards away from breaking Peyton Manning's all-time NFL passing yards record.
