Saints Sign Simmie Cobbs

The New Orleans Saints have added a receiver to their roster.

The 23-year old Cobbs, who played his college football at Indiana, signed with the Redskins as an undrafted free agent following the 2018 NFL Draft, before being released on September 1, and then signed to the practice squad the next day.

The 6-foot-3, 220-pound Cobbs was an all-Big Ten receiver at Indiana in 2017, after catching 72 passes for 841 yards in 2017.

Cobbs joins Michael Thomas, Tre'Quan Smith, Austin Carr, Keith Kirkwood, and Tommylee Lewis as the six receivers on the Saints' current roster, while Ted Ginn remains on injured reserve.
