The New Orleans Saints signed a rookie quarterback on Monday.

Well, at least they signed a rookie who played quarterback in college.

Thomas was a quarterback in Georgia Tech's option-oriented flexbone offense, but will likely try to play either receiver or defensive back in the NFL.

A native of Montgomery, Alabama, Thomas originally committed to play defensive back at Alabama, before signing with Georgia Tech, after the Yellow Jackets gave him the opportunity to play quarterback.

In his four seasons at Georgia Tech, Thomas completed 253-of-518 passes for 4,649 yards, including 40 touchdowns and 18 interceptions, while rushing for another 2,370 yards and 21 scores.

The 5-foot-11, 190-pound Thomas was named the MVP of the Orange Bowl following the 2014 season.
