The New Orleans Saints made a roster move on Monday, adding a veteran center.

The team announced the signing of Chris Watt, who attended last week's mandatory minicamp on a tryout basis.

The 6-foot-3, 310-pound Watt, who played his college football at Notre Dame, was selected by the San Diego Chargers in the third round of 2014 NFL Draft.

The 26-year old Watt appeared in 12 games as a rookie. including 5 as a starter, before playing in 5 games in 2015, including 3 starts.

A native of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, Watt missed the entire 2016 season with a knee injury.

The Saints were looking or center help, with starter Max Unger recovering from offseason foot surgery.
