Veteran kicker Shayne Graham (pictured) was released by the New Orleans Saints, the team announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Graham, a 15 year NFL veteran, joined the Saints late in the 2013 season after the team cut kicker Garrett Hartley. He won the job in training camp last year, playing all of 2014 in New Orleans.

Graham has some decent moments, earning NFC Special Teams Player of the Month last October. He re-signed with the club three months ago, and stated yesterday that he wasn't concerned by the Saints carrying 3 kickers on their 90 man offseason roster.

Perhaps he should've been more concerned, because now they're only carrying 2.

Kickers Dustin Hopkins and newly signed Zach Hocker remain on the roster.

Hocker played collegiately at Arkansas before being drafted in the 7th round last year by the Washington Redskins. He was waived by the Miami Dolphins earlier this month.

Hopkins played his college ball at Florida State. He was selected in the 6th round of the 2013 draft by the Buffalo Bills, but spent the year on injured reserve with a groin injury. Last season, the Saints signed him to their practice squad two weeks before the season ended.

New Orleans signed former San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Lance Lewis today with the vacant roster spot left open by cutting Graham.
