New Orleans Saints running back Mark Ingram won't test the free agent market. Instead, he inks a $16 million deal to remain with the Black & Gold, according to multiple reports.

The deal is worth a total of $16 million over 4 years. Other terms of the contract have not been revealed. Ingram shared the following message on his twitter account earlier tonight.

Ingram is coming off a career best season in 2014, rushing for 964 yards and 9 touchdowns, despite missing several games early in the season with a broken hand.

In a six week span late in the season, Ingram rushed for 100+ yards four times, earning him a spot in the NFL Pro Bowl as an alternate at running back after several players couldn't participate due to injury.

Ingram was a first-round draft pick of the Saints in 2011 after a 3 year career at Alabama that included winning the Heisman Trophy in his sophomore season.

The 5'9, 215 pound back has stated his desire to be a featured back, leading many to speculate that he may sign elsewhere in free agency.
