Center Brian De La Puente agreed to a one-year contract on Wednesday to remain with the New Orleans Saints. The 26 year old out of Cal established himself as the starting Center on the Saints award winning offensive line.

De La Puente was an exclusive rights free agents, similar to that of Adrian Arrington. Like Arrington before him, De La Puente's one year deal is worth $540,000.

De La Puente bounced around the league after being undrafted in 2008. He was signed by the San Francisco 49ers, but was cut, beginning a common trend for the talented offensive lineman. He signed and was cut by Kansas City, Carolina, and Seattle.

After continued hard work and dedication, Brian finally landed on New Orleans' practice squad in 2010. From there, he worked his way onto the 2011 active roster. De La Puente started as an injury replacement for Olin Kruetz early in the season. When Kruetz quit on the Saints in Octover, Brian stepped right back into the starting role and never looked back.
