Saints Place Jay Bromley On IR

The New Orleans Saints currently have one less defensive lineman on their roster.

Bromley, who suffered an arm injury in Sunday's win over the Baltimore Ravens, will now miss at least 8 weeks of action.

By placing Bromley on injured reserve, the Saints opened a spot on the roster for cornerback Eli Apple, who New Orleans acquired in a trade from the New York Giants on Tuesday.

A 6-foot-3, 310-pound defensive tackle, Bromley signed with the Saints in May, prior to being released on September 1. He was re-signed on September 18, before being released again on October 6, and then re-signed last week.

In two games this season for the Saints, Bromley tallied four tackles, all in a win over the Atlanta Falcons.

A native of Jamaica, New York Bromley played his college football at Syracuse, before being selected in the 3rd-round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the New York Giants.

In parts of five seasons in the NFL, the first four with the Giants, Bromley has appeared in 56 games, including two as a starter, compiling 51 total tackles, including two sacks.

Last season, the 25-year old Bromley appeared in 8 games, accumulating five tackles.
