METAIRIE, La. (AP) — Saints receiver Joe Morgan says he doing whatever he can, on and off the field, to make up for his drunken-driving arrest during the offseason.

Morgan remains in contention to become a regular in three-receiver formations alongside veterans Marques Colston and Lance Moore.

Morgan says he is participating in Stage 1 of the NFL's substance abuse program as a result of his DUI arrest over Memorial Day weekend. His court date is set for Aug. 23.

During training camp, he'll be trying to showcase not only the speed that made him a deep threat last season, but also his ability to handle intermediate pass routes.

Last season, Morgan's first on the field after a year on injured reserve, he caught 10 passes for 379 yards and three touchdowns.
