Saints Looking For Better Ground Attack This Year

The NFL has undoubtedly become more of a passing league over the years, but that doesn’t mean a team doesn’t have to have a solid running game to be successful.

The New Orleans Saints realize this, and took steps to correct what they perceived as an area that needed improvement over 2010.

The Saints traded to draft former Heisman Trophy winning running back Mark Ingram, and signed free agent running back Darren Sproles away from the San Diego Chargers, to join veteran Pierre Thomas.

James Varney, of the Times-Picayune, reports that the Saints made the moves in an effort to get more consistency in the running game, and more big plays.
