Saints Invite Carli Lloyd To Training Camp

The New Orleans Saints are trying to find a kicker, so why not invite Carli Lloyd to camp? She helped win a World Cup, so what's a field goal?

Lloyd inspired American soccer fans with her goal onslaught in this year's World Cup run, and the USWNT member rapidly became a national celebrity. The invitation was extended to Lloyd by the Saints in jest, but she has the same amount of career NFL field goal attempts as the other two guys in camp for New Orleans: zero.

After seeing Bubba Watson tweet about his son having fun at Saints camp, Lloyd playfully tried to convince him to switch sports.

While Lloyd was trying to steal some future talent into the soccer ranks, the Saints sensed an opportunity to pounce.

Who knows, Lloyd might have a career on the football field once she decides to leave the futbol pitch. If so, she knows the first team to call. Nice try, New Orleans.
