The New Orleans Saints held their second day of minicamp as one player returned from injury, while others continue to be out.

Wide receiver Andy Tanner returned to the practice field Wednesday for New Orleans. Tanner overcame the odds last season, earning an opening day roster spot. However, after Week 1, the Saints signed a familiar face in Robert Meachem, bumping Tanner back to the practice squad. With plenty of youth at the position (Kenny Stills, Brandin Cooks, Nick Toon, Joe Morgan, Brandon Coleman), a minicamp is important for someone like Tanner, who is aiming for another shot at making the 53 man regular season roster.

Speaking of wide receivers, Joe Morgan remains out. Morgan tore his ACL during last year's training camp. He continues to rehab his knee. Also sitting out minicamp is defensive tackle John Jenkins, who reportedly had minor pectoral surgery this offseason, and expensive free agent signee Safety Jairus Byrd, who underwent back surgery before OTAs. All 3 players are expected to be ready for training camp which begins July 24th.

Absent from Saints minicamp is rookie first round draft pick Brandin Cooks. The speedy wide receiver is currently finishing his semester at Oregon State. Also absent is All-Pro tight end Jimmy Graham, who is not currently under contract as his agent and the Saints continue dramatic negotiations.

Thursday marks the final day of minicamp, and the last time the Saints meet as a team before training camp.
