Saints Battle Texans In Preseason Matchup

Its become a preseason tradition, and as a result, no love has been lost between the New Orleans Saints and Houston Texans. The two squads will face off in Houston today at Reliant Stadium with a 3:00 kickoff. All the action can be heard on ESPN1420, with pregame beginning at 1:00.

Saints coach Sean Payton plans on playing most starters midway into the 3rd quarter. If preseason is supposed to mimic dress rehearsal, week 3 of the preseason is the closest thing to the "real deal" as fans will get.

"They have good up-front guys and they play that 3-4 defense, and something that we have been matched up against in practice and we are going to prepare ourselves for it," explained Saints RB Pierre Thomas. "We will put together a good game plan at the last minute against the Texans, and I think we will do a good job against them."
