Breaux is a New Orleans native who spent time at LSU as a student coach.

Breaux prepped at McDonogh 35, but suffered a serious neck injury in 2006. He broke three vertebrae and dealt with a partially blocked artery. As a result, he wasn't able to play football in college.

After making a full recovery, Breaux played arena football with the New Orleans Voodoo before signing with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League in 2013.

Breaux accumulated 62 tackles and one interception, which he returned for a touchdown, in two seasons at cornerback with the Tiger-Cats.

This marks the third CFL player the Saints have signed in recent years. New Orleans inked Tom Johnson in 2011, and Marcus Ball last February. Johnson played defensive tackle for three years in New Orleans, before signing with the Vikings last offseason. Ball played special teams and safety last year, and is currently under contract for next season.
