Bo Ryan had already said this college basketball season would be his last at Wisconsin.

Tuesday night, he said last night's game would be his last at Wisconsin.

Ryan announced his immediate retirement last night after the Badgers' win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

He will be replaced on an interim basis by Greg Gard, his long time assistant.

Ryan was 364-130 in his years at Wisconsin, where the Badgers won four Big Ten titles.  His teams were in the NCAA tournament every year and lost in the first round only once.  The Badgers appeared in the Final Four the last two seasons, losing to Duke in last year's championship game.

Ryan also won four national titles at Wisconsin-Platteville where he coached from 1984-99.  His record there was 352-76.  He also was at Milwaukee for two season before being hired at Wisconsin with a record of 30-27.
