The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns figured they'd be playing against Coach Willie Fritz in 2016.

They didn't think it would be in New Orleans.

ESPN's Brett McMurphy is reporting Fritz has agreed to leave Georgia Southern to become Tulane's next head coach, a move that could be announced as early as today.

Fritz led the Eagles to the Sun Belt Conference title in 2014 and finished 8-4 this season.  His team is headed to the GoDaddy Bowl in Mobile to play Bowling Green on December 23rd.

The Cajuns are scheduled to visit Tulane in 2016.

Fritz led Sam Houston State to a pair of FCS National Championship game appearances before becoming Georgia Southern's head coach.

Tulane fired Curtis Johnson after the Wave finished 3-9 in 2015.
