New Orleans Saints injuries continue to pile up. Today, they placed one of their best edge rushers on injured reserve.

According to Nick Underhill of The Advocate, defensive end Obum Gwacham has been put on IR.

Gwacham, a pass rushing specialist out of Oregon State, is in his second season with the Saints.

Pass rush is a phrase the Saints could use more of on the field of play.

After an impressive preseason, Gwacham was hopeful for a large role in a Saints defense that needed active pass rushers, especially coming off the heels of rusher Hau'oli Kikaha's tearing his ACL in the offseason.

Now, Gwacham joins Kikaha on injured reserve.

Gwacham registered 2.5 sacks and 8 tackles on the season. He played 7 snaps Monday night against Atlanta, but all came on special teams.
