New Orleans Saints starting defensive end Hau'oli Kikaha has torn his ACL according to multiple reports. He is likely done for the 2016 season.

This is brutal injury news for the Saints who are already thin on the front edge of their defense, needing upgrades to better rush opposing quarterbacks.

Big things were expected out of Kikaha after a productive rookie campaign in 2015 that included 52 tackles, 4 sacks and 4 forced fumbles.

Kikaha is no stranger to torn ACLs. As as sophomore at Washington, he started the first 4 games of the 2011 season before suffering a torn ACL. Hoping to come back in 2012 strong, Kikaha tore the ACL again.

To his credit, he came back strong in 2013 and 2014, earning All-American honors as a senior.

According to Nick Underhill of The Advocate, New Orleans has reached out to various free agents earlier this week.

At this point, signing a veteran or potentially trading for a pass rusher will come as no surprise.
