New Orleans Saints cornerback Damian Swann was carted off the field yesterday in Tampa Bay, reportedly suffering his 3rd concussion of the season after his head slammed against an opponent's knee making a tackle. The concussion diagnosis was first reported by Adam Caplan of the NFL Network.

Saints head coach Sean Payton wouldn't verify the report, electing to tell the media he would wait until receiving word from medical personnel.

Swann, a 5th round rookie pick out of Georgia, has played well this season...when he's played. He played the first quarter of the season before suffering a concussion in week 5. After sitting out the next two games, he suffered another concussion in his return in week 8. His return from that concussion was yesterday, before he suffered the latest one.

A third concussion likely ends Swann's season. While he hasn't been placed on injured reserve yet, New Orleans will likely make the roster announcement in coming days.

On a positive note, Swann sent out some encourage tweets last night and this morning.
