In need of wing depth, the New Orleans Pelicans have agreed in principle to ship center Alexis Ajinça to the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for veteran wingman Wesley Johnson, according to multiple reports.

Ajinça is expected to be waived by the Clippers, according to ESPN NBA reporter Adrian Wojnarowski.

Johnson is set to make $6.1 million this season, the last year of his contract.

Ajinça has not played a game for New Orleans since the 2016-17 season. A right patellar tendon injury kept him out for all of last year's campaign.

For Johnson, the Pelicans will be his 5th NBA team in 9 seasons.

He appeared in 74 games last season for the Clippers, starting in 40. He averaged 5.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1 steal per game.

For his career, Johnson has appeared in 571 NBA games, averaging 3.2 RPG, 1.1 APG, 0.8 SPG, 0.7 BPG and 7.2 PPG.

New Orleans season tips-off this Wednesday in Houston at 7:00.Johnson can play shooting guard or small forward, proving New Orleans with a little more depth at the wing.
