The New Orleans Pelicans have reportedly signed forward Jeff Adrien to a non-guaranteed, one year contract.

Marc Spears of Yahoo! sports first reported the signing yesterday, while Scott Kushner reported later in the day that the deal was non-guaranteed.

This is a training camp invite, and will take a special effort by Adrien to wow the coaching staff if his deal turns into a guarantee. However, he's a hard nosed 29 year old player who displays a chippiness that coaches and scouts applaud.

Adrien is a 6'7, 245 pound basketball journeyman who has played around the world.

After a solid college career at UConn, Adrien went undrafted before deciding to sign Leche Río Breogán in Spain.

In the last 6 years, he has played for several D-League teams, and around the world in Spain, Russia, Italy, and most recently in China with the Guangdong Southern Tigers.

Adrien has played in the NBA as well, with stints in Golden State, Houston, Charlotte, Milwaukee and most recently Minnesota last season.
