Report: Beebe to Step Down as Big 12 Commish

The Kansas City Star is reporting that Big 12 Commissioner Dan Beebe is on his way out. The report says he is negotiating a buyout on his contract.

Beebe has been under fire, especially from the University of Oklahoma, as the conference was at the precipice of imploding twice in the last two years.  The Conference has a chance to be saved since the Pac-12 decided against expansion.

Beebe reportedly would be replaced by Chuck Neinas, who was formerly the commissioner of the big Eight.

Beebe is under contract until 2013.
