Former LSU cornerback and Eunice native Tharold Simon has been released by the Washington Redskins, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Simon was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the 5th round of the 2013 draft, finding his most success there.

From 2013 to 2015, Simon won a Super Bowl his rookie year, though he spent much of it on the PUP list.

In 2014, he worked on the back end of the defensive backs rotation, playing significantly in Super Bowl XLIX due to an injury teammate Jeremy Lane.

Last season, Simon was released by Seattle at the beginning of the season. He spent most of last year with the Arizona Cardinals before being waived in December.

He inked a futures contract with Washington in January.
