Hurricane Irene forced the Florida Marlins and Cincinnati Reds to play a doubleheader Wednesday. It could also be the cause of a possible record low attendance. According to one tweeter/reporter (@790Justin), the unofficial headcount Wednesday at Sun Life Stadium was 347. However, he claims it's not the smallest crowd he's ever seen for a Marlins game.

Despite the paltry crowd, the Marlins will count tickets sold as the official headcount, which will skew the number dramatically. Florida did not announce attendance at the gate. It'll probably be listed in the record books around 10,000.  Hell, I'm surprised anyone was there at all.

But still, 347! You probably could've played had you shown up.

Not that anyone cares, but the Marlins won Game 1 6-5, while the Reds took Game 2 3-2.
