Rangers Clinch AL West/Astros Get Wild Card

It took until the final day of the season, but the 2015 Major League Baseball Playoffs were finalized on Sunday, with the Texas Rangers clinching the American League West, and the Houston Astros wrapping-up an AL wild card berth.

In Texas, the Rangers defeated the Los Angeles Angels, 9-2, to clinch their first AL West crown since 2011.

In Phoenix, Arizona, the Houston Astros fell to the Arizona Diamondbacks, 5-3, but they still clinched a playoff berth for the first time since 2005, by virtue of the Rangers win over the Angels.

The Astros will travel to take on the New York Yankees in the AL wild card game, on Tuesday night.
