Weather has wiped out the first two days of the Sun Belt Conference baseball tournament.

Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns were originally scheduled to play tonight at 6:30, before the start time was moved to 2:30pm, before it was postponed until further notice.

On a positive note, the weather from Thursday through Sunday is projected to be clear in Statesboro, Georgia.

While games won't begin until tomorrow, the Sun Belt won't have to face the reality of not being able to play any games. They'll just have to be creative with scheduling.

With all games originally scheduled to be played at J.I. Clements Stadium, the Sun Belt was able to tentatively schedule games today to also be played at Mill Creek Park in Statesboro. If Mill Creek Park is still available tomorrow, the double elimination format (which begins after the first two preliminary games) should still be in play.

Double elimination could also remain in play if 6 games are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, meaning game 1 each day would start very early and game 6 very late at J.I. Clements Stadium.

A source in Statesboro informed me the conference will do everything it can to avoid making the entire tournament single elimination. Based on the latest update, they couldn't make it work.
