When the floods hit South Louisiana, the Ragin' Cajuns came to rescue their fans...and so did their Sun Belt rivals, the South Alabama Jaguars.

The Jags asked their fans in Mobile to donate whatever possible to help the flood victims, and they surpassed all expectations. They started modestly with one truck, but they filled up another and rented more trucks to pack to the brim.

Flood victims lost everything in their homes, and the Jags brought everything but the kitchen sink: cleaning supplies (paper towels, mops, brooms, cleaners), clothing, shoes, diapers and baby strollers, and of course, food and water. All the goods filled up five rooms in the UL Student Union, and the total amount of donations weighed literally tons.

Blood is thicker than water. The skies dumped more water on Louisiana than it could handle in the floods, but Cajun blood defeats all adversity. It's not just our Louisiana family coming to help, it's our Gulf Coast brothers and sisters too.

From everyone in Acadiana, thank you South Alabama. When you help out a Cajun, you get a friend for life.
