Ragin’ Cajuns Ranked 22nd In CBI Mid-Major Poll
Rankings don't mean much to Garry Brodhead, but his Ragin' Cajuns Women's Basketball team got some love from CollegeBasketballInsider.com.
The people over at CBI released their updated Mid-Major poll, and the Ragin' Cajuns checked in at number 22 in the rankings, two spots higher than the previous poll. At 12-3 (5-1 Sun Belt), with four road wins already in conference play, the recognition should come as no surprise. They easily continue to climb the polls with seven of their next eight games at home.
Again, polls and rankings only mean so much to Coach Brodhead, and he doesn't like to look too far ahead. He just wants his team to stay focused on the goal at hand and respect every opponent.
"Great teams don't worry about who they're playing, they worry about what they do," Brodhead said at his weekly press conference.
Up next for the Cajuns, a home game against South Alabama. Make sure to grab your seat in the Cajundome. This team is on a roll, and they could really start turning heads over the home stretch. Can they emerge out the other side with close to 20 wins?
Cajun Nation, and the rest of the country, will be watching. Brodhead's team wants the Sun Belt, and they can go out and get it.
The thrill of the hunt is enough to keep the team's, and Brodhead's, hunger, "We're one game out of first place, and anything can happen."
