Remember the big freshman running back that showed promise in the Ragin' Cajun Spring Game, Walter Williams? He just got dismissed from the team.

The talented back will no longer be a member of Ragin' Cajun Football "due to a violation of team rules," according to a statement from the university. Head Coach Mark Hudspeth gave his necessary quote to cut ties, and just like that a freshman running back found a way to get dismissed from the team before ever even playing a down for them when it mattered.

“Walter is no longer a member of our football team,” Hudspeth said. “We wish him well in his future endeavors.”

Coach Hud also mentioned he won't offer any more comments on the matter. Clearly, Williams wasn't going to be asked to shoulder a big load with Elijah McGuire still tearing things up in the backfield. There was definite talent and a high ceiling there though, so it's a shame he couldn't walk within the lines the Ragin' Cajuns asked him to.

Williams' dismissal, along with the dismissals of C.J. Bates and Marquis White, will affect the Cajuns next season. You don't violate team rules and expect to still be on the team.

When Coach Hudspeth draws a line in the sand, you don't cross it.
