Ragin’ Cajuns Defeat Arizona, 10-3, In Lafayette Regional
The Ragin' Cajuns are on fire. They took care of the Arizona Wildcats, 10-3, on Sunday, bringing them one step closer to a super-regional.
Gunner Leger got the start and the win in the game, but it was the bats that stole the show. The Cajuns combined for 11 hits, including three big RBI from Stefan Trosclair. They scored runs in four straight innings in the middle of the game, and the offense never let up on the Arizona pitching staff.
With the win, the Cajuns move along in the winner's bracket. Arizona and Sam Houston State will throw down for a chance to play the Cajuns again on Monday, with a super regional berth on the line.
Monday's game is scheduled for a 1:00 pm first pitch (12:30 pm pregame on ESPN 1420), and the if-necessary game is set for 7:00 pm (tentatively on News Talk 96.5 KPEL).
Keep your eyes peeled for Jay Walker's full game recap, which will be on ESPN 1420 in no time.
