The Ragin' Cajuns picked up another weapon in the form of Mississippi State transfer and former Dutchtown wide receiver Shelby Christy.

Mark Hudspeth's new 6'3"-210 lb target will have to sit out the 2015 season due to NCAA transfer rules, but he will be a physical presence to reckon with next year when he reaches the field.

A redshirt season and an ACL injury kept him off the field for both of his seasons in Starkville. It's hard to gauge how productive he will be, being that his most recent stats come from his senior year at Dutchtown, where he hauled in over 600 yards and five touchdowns, while running track as well. Luke Johnson of the Advocate reported that his former Dutchtown coach, Benny Saia, said Christy wants to play receiver for the Cajuns, despite reports from Mississippi that he was slated to compete at tight end.

With Jamal Robinson in his final season as a Cajun, UL will look to develop Christy into another large pass catcher on the outside. How will he handle the adjustment back into the state of Louisiana? Time will tell, but the food must make him smile again.
