It took two softball parks, two different days and extra innings, but Louisiana finally finished their game with Eastern Illinois, winning 14-10, improving to 4-0 on the season.

In a game that began Saturday at 2:00pm at Lamson Park, the Panthers of EIU struck first, scoring 3 runs in the bottom of the first inning.

Louisiana scored their first run in the top of the 3rd on an Aeriyl Mass RBI, then took the lead one inning later with 4 runs off several Panther errors, a Cajun RBI double and RBI single.

Storms picked up in the top of the 5th inning with the Cajuns leading 5-3, and play was suspended.

It picked back up this morning at 9am at the Broussard Sports Complex.

Eastern Illinois scored 1 in the bottom of the 5th, but the Cajuns answered with another 4 run inning in the 6th off timely hits and Panther errors.

The scrappy Panthers scored 2 in the bottom of the 6th, before Louisiana added a security run in the 7th off a Lexie Comeaux RBI bunt single.

Things were far from over.

With 3 outs left, down 4, EIU added one run, before loading the bases, then clearing them on a 3 RBI double and the game was tied at 10 and they went to extra innings.

Despite the late EIU surge the Cajuns were able to score 4 runs in the top of the ninth inning and hold them down in the bottom half.

With the win the Ragin' Cajuns improve to 4-0 on the young season.
