Torrey Pierce will be part of a veteran "committee of three," as Mark Hudspeth put it, backing up Elijah McGuire for the Ragin' Cajuns this year.

McGuire is clearly the feature back and the crown jewel of the offense, but Pierce, along with Effrem Reed and Montrel Carter, will lend their upperclassmen versatility to come off the bench and offer some talent. None of the three bring the same size as Alonzo Harris, but a committee of three means the legs are always fresh, and so are the looks.

An unselfish attitude is what it takes for the three backs to make it work. Pierce's career as a Cajun has been filled with competition at the position, and he's always found a way to contribute.

Coaches love team players. Take a minute to get to know one of the quietest, selfless players on the team. He might surprise you during the season.
