Louisiana Ragin' Cajun kicker Stevie Artigue has been nominated for the prestigious Lou Groza Award, given to college football's best place-kicker after the season.

Artigue, a Lafayette native who prepped at Lafayette High, is one of 30 players from all of college football to make the list. However, all FBS kickers are eligible to be selected as semifinalists in November.

Leading the team in scoring with 86 points in 2016, Artigue has made his last nine field goal attempts.

The junior was named All-Louisiana last year, nailing 19 of 24 field goals, while going 29 of 31 on PATs.

Louisiana opens he season on September 2nd at Cajun Field, hosting Southeastern Louisiana at 6:00pm.
