Ragin’ Cajun Forward Shawn Long Named SBC Player Of The Week…Again

Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun basketball team is coming off an impressive weekend where they won the Maui Mainland Invitational. Several players stood out, especially Shawn Long.

The Cajuns big man is being honored by the Sun Belt Conference once again as the Conference player of the week, the second time he's received the honor since the season began less than 3 weeks ago.

Long averaged 21.0 points, 12.0 rebounds and 4.0 blocks at the Maui Mainland Invitational, taking home tournament MVP, propelling the Cajuns to two victories.

His season statistics thus far are even better. The sophomore from Morgan City is shooting 58% from the field, and averaging 20.3 points, 11.0 rebounds and 3.0 blocks a game.

Louisiana (4-2) will look to win their third straight tomorrow night at the Cajundome as they host Northwestern State (2-2). It will mark the first time the two schools have met on the hardwood since 1987.
