Ragin’ Cajun F Shawn Long Named To Lou Henson Award Watch List

Louisiana Ragin' Cajun big man Shawn Long is 1 of 40 player named to the Lou Henson Award watch list, one of three Sun Belt Conference players to make the cut.

Ryan Harrow and R.J. Hunter of Georgia State were also represented on the Henson Award watch list.

Long, a 2013-14 first-team All-Sun Belt conference selection, averaged 18.6 points and 10.4 rebounds per game last season. He enters the 2014- season as the active national leader in double-doubles with 36 for his career.

Long's former Cajun teammate Elfrid Payton, who was a finalist last March for the Lou Henson Award. Payton is currently a rookie in the NBA with the Orlando Magic, after being drafted 10th overall last summer.

Long is currently nursing a bone bruise, and is questionable for this Friday's season opener against Louisiana College.
