A proposal to be voted on in January, 2016 by the men's oversight committee would allow student-athletes to declare for the NBA draft and then withdraw their name if they have not signed with an agent.

If the proposal is approved it would go into effect for the 2016 draft, according to a story on espn.com.

Currently, once a player declares for the draft, that's it as far as his college eligibility is concerned.  The NCAA will move the withdrawl date sometime in mid to late May after the NBA combines.  Currently, players must declare their intentions a week after the Final Four.

The proposal would also allow a player to declare for the draft multiple times.  Players could declare for the draft and then get an unbiased evaluation from NBA personnel before making a final decison, provided an agent is not hired.
