Throughout the season we'll be keeping an eye on not only the Pelicans but the Top 5 in the NBA on a weekly basis, you can check out the entire list here.

The New Orleans Pelicans had a tough week going 1-3, they started out the week with a win over the Memphis Grizzlies before losing three in a row against the Detriot Pistons and San Antonio Spurs at home and Oklahoma City on the road.

With the 1-3 record, last week New Orleans fell in the Weekly Power Rankings from 20th to 22nd and they're 22-28.

Here is this week's Top 5:

  1. Golden State Warriors (35-14)-Steady at 1
  2. Milwaukee Bucks (35-13)-Steady at 2
  3. Denver Nuggets (33-15)-Up one to 4
  4. Toronto Raptors (37-15)-Down one from 3
  5. Houston Rockets (29-20)-Up two from seven

The Pelicans have continued to be hampered by injuries and now on Monday Anthony Davis has requested a trade from the team that drafted him because of the inability of the front office to put pieces in place around him to win.

This week New Orleans has three games, two on the road and one at home. The week will start on Tuesday as the team travels to Houston to play the Rockets who just jumped into the top five, Wednesday they'll be back at home to face the number three team in the rankings in the Nuggets, and on Saturday they'll be in San Antonio to face the Spurs (29-22).
