Anthony Davis demanded the ball in overtime, leading his New Orleans Pelicans to a thrilling 114-108 overtime victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

"Very satifying just to get a win, protecting our home floor," sad a smiling Davis after the win to ESPN reporter Israel Gutierrez. "We've (been) struggling. This is potentially the game where we get our mojo back. Play hard, play with a lot of intensity against a great team."

Davis scored 6 of the Pelicans 9 points in overtime, finishing the game with 31 points, 12 rebounds, 4 steals, 1 block and an assist.

The game was full of momentum shifts. A 1 point game at the half, before New Orleans ran away with the 3rd quarter, and Cleveland won the 4th behind the amazing play of superstar LeBron James.

"It was tough," said Davis. "LeBron got it going in the 4th but we just kept staying together and kept our poise and Jrue hit a big three."

Down 3 with 15 seconds left, the Pelicans inbounded the ball after a timeout as Jrue Holiday hit a step back 3 with a hand in his face.

"I felt good. I'm blessed," said Holiday to FOX Sports reporter Jen Hale. "God blessed me to play this game in front of everybody."

God blessed basketball fans with an entertaining game on Friday night.

James had his way with any Pelican defender who guarded him, except one. New Orleans forward Dante Cunningham.

James shot 8-9 in the 4th quarter against any defender not named Cunningham. He was 1-6 when guarded by Dante, who defended James in the final seconds of regulation when LeBron shot a potential game-winner.

"We've got to keep this going," Davis noted. "We can't have a great game like tonight and then come out Monday and play flat."

Eric Gordon scored 19 for New Orleans, while Ryan Anderson added 18 off the bench. Tyreke Evans added a double-double of 14 points and 10 assists, while Holiday finished with 13.

Pelicans center Omer Asik may not have lit up the stat sheet (6 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals), but his defense and ability to clog up the lane was a big factor in the win.

"I thought we did a really good job defensively down the stretch," said Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry. "That's a good win against a real good quality team."

New Orleans (5-15) remains at home for their next matchup, hosting the Boston Celtics on Monday night. Tip-off is set for 7:00.
