Throughout the season we'll be keeping an eye on not only the Pelicans but the Top 5 in the NBA on a weekly basis, you can check out the entire list here.

The New Orleans Pelicans had an average week going 2-2 last week. After they began last week with a narrow loss to the Indiana Pacers they recovered with two straight victories over the Chicago Bulls and Minnesota Timberwolves and finished the week with a loss at the Memphis Grizzlies.

With the 2-2 record, last week New Orleans stayed steady in the Weekly Power Rankings at 24th and they're 25-32.

Here is this week's Top 5:

  1. Golden State Warriors (40-15)-Steady at 1
  2. Milwaukee Bucks (41-14)-Steady at 2
  3. Toronto Raptors (41-16)-Up one to 4
  4. Oklahoma City Thunder (36-19)-Up two from 6
  5. Philadelphia 76ers (36-20)-Up two from 7

This week New Orleans has four games, three of which at home at the Smoothie King Center. The week will start on Tuesday as the team welcomes in the Orlando Magic (25-32) before the Thunder make an appearance at the Blender on Thursday, both games are at 7 pm. Friday New Orleans will play the middle part of a back-to-back-to-back as they travel to Indiana to take on the Pacers (37-19) at 6 pm. They wrap the week on Saturday back home to take on the Los Angeles Lakers which should be an interesting match-up barring all the noise surrounding both teams with Anthony Davis and Magic Johnson.
