Throughout the season we'll be keeping an eye on not only the Pelicans but the Top 5 in the NBA on a weekly basis, you can check out the entire list here.

The New Orleans Pelicans struggled last week going 1-3 after defeating the San Antonio Spurs to start the week they dropped three straight. Those three losses came against the Philadelphia 76ers, New York Knicks, and Washington Wizards all on the road.

New Orleans has fallen a little bit in the rankings and currently sit at 15th, one spot down from where they were last week as the team is currently 10-10 on the year.

Here is this week's Top 5:

  1. Toronto Raptors (17-4)-Stayed steady at 1
  2. Milwaukee Bucks (14-5)-Stayed steady at 2
  3. Golden State Warriors (14-7)-Stayed steady at 3
  4. Los Angeles Clippers (13-6)-Up four from 8
  5. Oklahoma City Thunder (12-7)-Down one from 4

It was a tough week for the Pelicans as they endured a three-game road stretch in which they came up short in every game. It has been an up and down season thus far for New Orleans, beating teams they shouldn't and losing to teams they also shouldn't. I think the best way to describe them at this point is consistently inconsistent.

This week for the Pels they kick it off at the Blender for two games against the Boston Celtics on Monday and then they get another crack at the Washington Wizards on Wednesday. The second half of the week they're back on the road again traveling down to Miami to face the Heat on Friday and then to Charlotte to take on the Hornets Sunday.
