Pelicans Forward Ryan Anderson To Miss Time With Toe Injury
The injury bug has bitten the Pelicans before the season even begins. New Orleans power forward and three point specialist Ryan Anderson will miss one to three weeks with a chip fracture in a toe on his right foot.
New Orleans made the announcement around 4:45 today, a little over two hours before their regular season tips-off against the Indiana Pacers.
Anderson and the club aren’t sure when the injury occurred, only saying that he began feeling discomfort in his toe during practice. After a medical evaluation, it was determined he had a chip fracture.
Anderson’s rebounding and three-point ability will be missed. Anthony Morrow, another three-point specialist, will likely be counted on to stretch the opposing defense during Anderson’s absence.
