New Orleans Pelicans forward Quincy Pondexter underwent successful knee surgery on Wednesday morning, the team announced yesterday afternoon.

It was an arthroscopic procedure in his left knee. An exact timetable for his return to basketball activities has not been announced yet.

Pondexter came to the Pelicans from the Memphis Grizzlies in mid January as part of a three-team trade. He spent his rookie season with New Orleans before playing the next three and a half in Memphis.

The 5 year veteran out of Washington averaged 7.2 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 23.9 minutes per game for both the Pelicans and Grizzlies last season.

Teammates attributed his leadership and postseason experience as a key factor in earning a playoff spot.
