The New Orleans Pelicans bounced back from a disappointing loss to the Orlando Magic on Friday, with a dominant 105-91 victory in Miami over the Heat.

On one hand, the win was even more impressive considering the Pelicans lost All-Star Anthony Davis in the first quarter when he re-injured his right shoulder. Shortly after Davis' exit, forward Ryan Anderson sprained his knee on a non-contact play, and didn't return.

"When A.D. and Ryan went down I didn't see anybody buckle," New Orleans coach Monty Williams said after the win. "We beat a good team on their home floor."

On the other hand, the Pelicans can't be feeling too good, losing their best player in Davis, their best three point shooter in Anderson, and are already missing starting point guard Jrue Holiday to a leg injury that has kept him out since early January.

Both Davis and Anderson will be reevaluated in New Orleans on Sunday.

Guard Eric Gordon stepped up in a big way Saturday night, dropping 24 points (15 in the third quarter), including 6 three pointers.

"I was just locked in," Gordon said after the win. "You have to take advantage of the opportunity."

New Orleans center Omer Asik added 15 points and 9 rebounds, while guard Tyreke Evans scored 13.

Pelicans guard Norris Cole got a standing ovation from the Miami crowd, just days after being traded by the Heat to the Pelicans.

Cole, playing in his first NBA game in a uniform other than the Heat, coincidentally was playing the Heat. He scored 12 points in his Pelicans debut, adding 6 assists, 6 rebounds and a steal for good measure.

With the victory, New Orleans snaps a 4 game losing streak, improving to 28-27 overall.

Next up, a home game versus the Toronto Raptors (37-18) on Monday night at the Smoothie King Center. Tip-off is set for 7:00.
