Throughout the season we'll be keeping an eye on not only the Pelicans but the Top 5 in the NBA on a weekly basis, you can check out the entire list here.

The New Orleans Pelicans were average last week going 2-2 dropping one at home to the Boston Celtics and grabbing another at home against the Washington Wizards. They also dropped one on the road to the Miami Heat and garnered a win at the Charlotte Hornets.

New Orleans has fallen a little bit in the rankings and currently sit at 17th, two spots down from where they were last week as the team is currently 12-12 on the year.

Here is this week's Top 5:

  1. Toronto Raptors (20-4)-Stayed steady at 1
  2. Milwaukee Bucks (15-7)-Stayed steady at 2
  3. Golden State Warriors (15-9)-Stayed steady at 3
  4. Los Angeles Clippers (15-7)-Stayed steady at 4
  5. Oklahoma City Thunder (14-7)-Stayed steady at 5

It was a better week for the Pels as they stayed steady at .500 with Anthony Davis playing extremely well last week as the team struggles to find consistency at the point guard position. Tim Frazier played well against his old team in the Wizards in a win and they got some pretty decent play out of him the rest of the week.

This week New Orleans has four games with the first three being at home. They open up Monday night against the Los Angeles Clippers who have played better than many would have anticipated. Next, they welcome in the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday before the Memphis Grizzlies visit the Smoothie King Center on Friday. To finish the week the team will travel to Detroit to take on the Pistons at the Palace.
