Former Tennessee men's basketball coach Bruce Pearl has received a three-year show cause penalty from the NCAA, stemming from violations committed while he was the head coach.

Former assistants Tony Jones, Steve Forbes and Jason Shay also received one year show cause penalties.

The NCAA Committee on Infractions accepted the self-imposed penalties from Tennessee while the investigation was going on and added no new penalties, other than the individual ones to the former coaches.

The Tennessee football program was not found to have committed any major violations, but the NCAA pointed out that having twelve secondary violations in just one season under former coach Lane Kiffin was troubling.

Tennessee self imposed two years probation, which was upheld by the NCAA.
