Georgetown has hired former Hoya and Patrick Ewing as head coach, according to multiple reports.

Terms of the contract have not been released yet.

Ewing, 54, starred at Georgetown from 1981-85, leading the Hoyas to a national champoinship in '84.

He spent the bulk of his 17 year NBA career as the starting center of the New York Knicks. He played 1 season with the Supersonics and another with the Magic before retiring in 2002.

Ewing has never been a head coach, but has served as an assistant in the NBA since his playing days ended.

Most recently, he was an assistant and the associate head coach of the Charlotte Hornets.
